Safari Itinerary
Drive to Marangu Gate. Trek through rainforest to Mandara Hut (2700m). Optional visit to Maundi Crater. Dinner and overnight.
Trek through forest and moorland. First views of Kibo and Mawenzi. Reach Horombo Hut (3720m). Acclimatization walk. Dinner and overnight.
Rest day at Horombo. Optional hike to Zebra Rocks (4000m). Excellent for acclimatization. Return to Horombo for dinner.
Trek across lunar landscape to Kibo Hut (4700m). Alpine desert. Early dinner and rest.
Start summit at midnight. Reach Gilman's Point (5685m) then Uhuru Peak (5895m). Descend to Horombo Hut. Celebration dinner!
Trek through forest to Marangu Gate. Lunch, receive certificates. Drive back to Moshi/Arusha.
